Kappers family

HONORING DEAN THROUGH CREATING OPPORTUNITY
RefugeeConnect established a student scholarship to further its mission and to honor Dean Razzak, late son of Ziad Razzak and Alicia Kappers, a current RefugeeConnect Board Member. Dean was born to Alicia and Ziad in November 2014 with a rare medical disorder. Described as a happy little guy, he fought hard and enjoyed life at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center with the love and care of so many and mom and dad by his side. Dean passed in January 2015.

Dean’s mother, Alicia, is one of the founding Co-Chairs of RefugeeConnect and currently serves as a RefugeeConnect Board Member; Dean’s father, Ziad, is a refugee whose family resettled in the United States.
