Junior League of Cincinnati Reintroduces Themselves to the Cincinnati Community with Renewed Mission

posted on

The Junior League of Cincinnati announced today the rollout of a refreshed Mission statement, one that is shared with the 295 Junior Leagues that comprise The Association of Junior Leagues International (AJLI). While Junior Leagues are not changing who they are or what they do, the refined Mission clarifies their collective purpose and propels their work forward.

The revitalized language reads, “An organization of women whose shared mission is to advance women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training.” The clarity and power of the dual mission of providing women with leadership skills while offering opportunities to do important community work amplifies the legacy of commitment to the Greater Cincinnati community.

The Junior League of Cincinnati was established in 1920 and has always been the place for women in the Cincinnati community to come together to learn, share, and grow. As communities around the world face ongoing upheaval, the steadfast commitment of Junior League is needed in communities now more than ever.

Along with the refresh of our mission, we decided to form new values: Service, Women’s Empowerment and Meaningful Connections. While we are an organization with a rich history, it’s important that we change as our members and our community changes. With our new mission and values, we can focus on what is most important to us as a non-profit to guide us through our next 100 years.
