Awards

The Junior League of Cincinnati bestows 7 major awards each year to people and organizations that uphold the ideals and values of the JLC.

Community Impact Award
Conferred upon a person, agency or organization that has supported both the JLC and the wider community.

The Cookie Nowland Sustainer Award
Given to a Sustainer who has exhibited a lifelong commitment to volunteering, outstanding community service and a commitment to the JLC.

The Excellence in Training Award
Recognizes an Active member who demonstrates her commitment to the JLC mission by using her training skills within the JLC or the greater community.

The Jeanne Boyce Morrison President Award
Jeanne Boyce Morrison was a beloved member of the JLC who, sadly, lost her battle with cancer just a few days prior to assuming her role as the JLC President in 1992. This award honors her memory and recognizes an Active JLC member who embodied Jeanne’s outstanding service to the JLC.

The Shanon Marks Outstanding New Member Award
Shanon Marks was member of the 1998 Provisional class, who was tragically murdered during that year. Everyone who knew Shanon Marks was impressed by her inner and outer beauty, caring attitude and leadership qualities. The JLC began this award in 1998 as a tribute to Shanon’s spirit and dedication to her community.  This award recognizes an outstanding New Member who has made noticeable contributions within a committee, project, fundraiser or within the New Member training course.

Rising Star Award
Recognizes a JLC member with 2 years or less of Active membership status who has demonstrated extraordinary service and fulfillment of the JLC mission.

Transformational Team Award
Recognizes a JLC committee that demonstrates extraordinary passion and seamless collaboration, approaching their work in new and innovative ways to deliver more than they could as individuals and reaching breakthrough results.
